Meant for saving thousands of lives each year, the medical alarm for seniors is a system that insures a professional monitoring of people who could need emergency help. Panic buttons have become recently very helpful for any senior who chooses to live an independent life. A real friend in need, if we may say so, because one can count on a medical alarm for seniors 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

A whole medical alarm system is working for seniors. Now the basic medical alarm for seniors has a medical alarm base unit (usually wireless, for a greater mobility), a personal transmitter button and, of course, a medical alarm monitoring centre. The medical alarm transmitter can be a panic button, a medical alert bracelet, a medical alert pendant or some other kind of medical alert device. Medical alert systems come under different models and their cost depends on the medical alarm provider, the required medical alert services or the medical alarm system itself.

Hundreds of people over the age of 65, leading a solitary lifestyle are convinced that a medical alarm for seniors is efficient and absolute necessary for a life with as less worries as possible. In US, more than 12 million seniors are reported to live alone and almost 4 million elders suffer critical emergency situations without help at hand. The old age itself is sometimes a state of decreased physical and mental capabilities and can be judged as a medical condition. Such helpless seniors, as well as people who need emergency medical attention at short notice find medical alarms for seniors very handy and efficient.

Since senior medical alarms exist, senior care has improved a lot in the USA and worldwide. The medical alarms and medical alert devices represent now an essential tool in senior care. And the senior health monitoring itself is far from efficient without the medical alarms, because these devices are able to provide safety and security for elders who still desire to live independently. A medical alarm for seniors is now considered as a thorough alternative to a much more dependent senior life within a senior residence.

Presently, the senior community is prepared to live longer and better… and that is an achievement that includes the efficiency of the medical alarms for seniors, with their source of self esteem, safety and comfort.

The use of medical alert devices is really a must for the elderly so secure their safety. My mom who is still active is her early 60’s has a medical alert system installed in her house and uses PERS at the same time. The use of these two devices doesn’t cost her a lot because she only spends $3.33 a month for her PERS. She’s actually using a Just5 cell phone. This is a simple cell phone that is equipped with PERS features. The truth is that she only spends for the minutes she consumes with this phone, its PERS features come free of charge. It’s very reliable and practical so seniors can really enhance their safety with the use of this device.

I am a single mom who is currently taking care of my grand mother. I gave her an Alert 1 device but she said she wants the Just5 mobile phone instead. Her friends told her that it gives them confidence that they can still make their own calls even during an emerhgency situation. So, I bought her one and she has never been happier. I am 40 and my dad is 75 years old. He has Alzheimer for 4 years now. I bought a medical alarm for keeping him under surveillance, but he refuses to carry the device with him when walking. Anyone with a suggestion?
